Creating Wilf Rigter's ZXKBD v3
Re: Creating Wilf Rigter's ZXKBD v3
An 7805 can turn itself off when it overheats, this normally happens when its heatsink isn't attached well.
also the K cursor should re-appear when the ZX81 cools off, when its just a 7805 overheating problem.
does the cursor re-appear when you let the x81 cool of for half an hour or so?
Also, was the basement very damp? perhaps the problem is moisture related, or corrosion of the IC sockets.

This would be the easiest way to get a distance. The edge connector disappears nearly complete inside the ZX81 (or TS1000).mrtinb wrote: I think I'll try to get a ZX81XT from Pokemon first.

Wow!
My keyboard pcb works. The pcb is not connected to the keys yet, but when I shortcut the wires, corresponding letters show on the screen. Yes! My first electronics project works!
What is left now is to connect the three pcbs with the keys.
