1K Hires Meteor Storm, finally started !

While awaiting my ZX81 (searching Ebay and Marktplaats, almost finished) to check PONG and SALOON CITY on real machines and make the code fitting, I started thinking of coding Meteor Storm.

I have been working on the screenroutine for 2 weeks, but coded nothing in MC yet. I was only calculating how it should become working in 1K.
I finally think I have a working method. The screen is split into 4 parts to make the display possible.
The screen will become 21 colums and full screen with falling meteors in hires (UDG). The meteors must be shot with lasers that will fire from a watchtower.

Missed meteors will damage the earth. You must shoot as much meteors as possible without getting out of lasers. When the earth is broken and a meteor falls through the earht explodes (visible?) and the game ends.

Still some data to see how it fits, but it is a start.

BTW : I have the ZX81, Timex and keyboard (must get it from a collegue, but it is mine)

several books incl. 101 timex 1000 / sinclair 81 programming tips & tricks
further dutch books incl some electronics projects.

Will test the hardware tonight!

Well, it has been a while but I am back.

I really had a coding block for Meteor Storm. All kinds of problems needed to be solved to fit the code in 1K and especially the screenlayout.

I now have sorted out all but 1 problem which I will keep as it can be defined a reflection of the meteor in the tower!

So now it is off to coding the dropping routine and the shooting and the counters for score and laser!

The family is watching some loveprogram on TV so all the time to code Meteor Storm.
The meteors are falling down. Almost all are ok. Due to the special display methods 1 position needs to be changed, but hiresgame 13 is growing!
