It's boxed in the brown postage outer & has the 1980 post mark on it.
The ZX80 has a small crack on the case by the keyboard it's in used conditon & still works.
I am thinking of selling it but need to know what it's worth
Typically a ZX80 fetches around £100 - £150.
The one you have will put some collectors off with the crack in the case - it is more than just a missing corner as it could spread. It is also quite badly yellowed.
Having the original outer cardboard box and the polys in good condition will help, as will the fact that it is working.
The PSU is also the black one - is the earth pin broken off on it - not sure from picture - that will affect its sale. Some early ZX80s had a white PSU which is very rare.
I would guess £90-£110 in that condition.
It depends on where you sell it and who sells it.
I tend to command better prices on ebay for these sort of items, as I have a longstanding reputation on the site as a high quality seller that people can trust in to have thoroughly tested items before sale, as well as being a Sinclair specialist. I also promote these items across a range of sites where I am also well known and can typically get a 20-25% uplift in value.
I am willing to sell such items on your (and others' ) behalf, subject to a 25% commission (including ebay fees which in themselves are around 10% for a private seller). Commission would be charged on the net amount received (after deduction of any PayPal fees for example). However, the catch is that I would need to have the item sent to me for sale, so that I can fully test it.
I bought mine for 300USD 2 years ago, but it was still with its bright, clean white colour, all the keys worked, the PSU was included and working, video was working 100% with a nice image, and no scratches.
