Was there ever a good Centipede for the ZX81?

You wait 40 years for a decent ZX81 Centipede and now we've got Zedipede AND this

I have been thinking how to do this in 1K hires, but didn't get it as I wanted.
And now the 1K hires period has ended so no effort will be made ever again.

I found a way to code a 1K lowres centipede. Now in the new games section.

I really like it but it's SO hard without autofire that you can't clear more than about three levels before your hand falls off
