May be the same
I only knows another graphically similar. But this is 100% accurate with the original, has 1 pixel scrolling and supports Chroma as well. A but slower. There's the spectrum version too.. https://splintergu.itch.io/

I gave up on trying these downloads a while back as non of them worked for me, as in I always ended up with the full screen of pixelated pattern on loading, whichever version I tried. I'm using a real machine with internal 32k which runs all the other WRX stuff. And thanks to some of the game suggestions on here also now has sound!
Just tried the lateset version with my new(old) Zon x-81 and exactly the same.......Any suggestions welcome.
I run this exact binary on both the SZ81 emulator and my physical TS1000 with a ZXPand expansion.

you must use version with partial chroma, version with full chroma won't run for you.
Does the fact I'm on 32k make a difference? Just tried the partial Chroma and no joy.
Just to be clear, this should run on a standard ZX81, with a geniune (and working) Zon x-81 box?
I have the Speccy versions for both 48k and 128k, both fantastic. Just need to sort the zx81 version now.
I do have other zx81s which are standard so may try one of those rather than the 32k one.
don't works on standard zx81... you only need 32k + WRX support... (I'm the author)
why need 32k? because this version have lot of code and data... is a full clone of original arcade space invaders...

It is a fantastic clone as I run the Spectrum version on my 48k & 128k.
Maybe the fact mine is an internal 32k is what makes the difference as Zxpand is configured differently.
No worries, I'll make do with the Speccy version for now. Thanks again.
Are you, or have you written any other classic game clones? Definately what us 80s kids would appreciate!

I've just tested on the ZXPAND+ and works with both 8-40 and 16-48 ram configurarion.. then you only need 16-40 SRAm to be accessible.
Do you have a Capacitor over the RAM CS.. ?
I Know this WRX was implemented using z88dk perhaps there is something particular with timings there.

Not even sure what 'Capacitor over the RAM CS' means! I'm not that technical to be fair.
I'l just accept it doesn't work on mine. I've got the Spectrum versions anyway.

Which internal 32k modification do you have? There are a number of different variations, as expanding beyond 16k bytes requires extra circuitry due to the way the ZX81/TS1000 display system works. Hence different people have used different methods.

Not too sure. I bought it off Ruderetro (I think that's how it's spelt?) last year. Like I said I'm not that involved technically so forgive me for being vague. If he's on here then maybe he'll know. Other than that, I just enjoy these old Sinclair machines and learn along the way, which I'm realising is even more enjoyable as a fifty year old than it was when I was 11! I do have a couple of original, working ZX81s and three spectrums, a Spectrum+ along with a Toastrack. I've had a ZX81, an issue 2 spider mod and the Toastrack refubished by Mutant Caterpila so these all work perfect, along with the 32k ZX81.
