Artic ZX Galaxians - now with ZONX support (and Chroma81 & UDG)

Post by kmurta »

When I implemented UDG graphics in ZX Galaxians a while back it was also my intention to incorporate some support for the ZONX81, but I ended up getting distracted by other things and that was forgotten.

But a few days ago I was revisiting the AY drivers used by Sirmorris in the "Bigg Oil" and "ZeDragon" games and decided it was time to rescue the Galaxians and put some "blow-ups" on them. The result I share below in two versions, one with standard graphics and the other with UDG graphics and Chroma81 support.

Enjoy!

Honestly no. It would take a very big change to the program and at the moment I don't have the time to dedicate myself to it. Sorry.

Not at the moment, but I still intend to release a Forth ANSI compliant, but first I have to resolve certain personal issues that have been requiring my full attention.

I couldn´t run the Croma version on Eighty One
how should I configure it?
neither with the ZXpand+ using CONFIG "M=L"
The low res version showed some inconsistecies with sound on ZXPAND+ as seen in the video,
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2vilx4kgyxhqw ... 3.mp4?dl=0
(not my best play...
I enjoyed the original loading it from tape those days :D :D :D :D ..
on EO it sounds good! wich is not usual :?
if it could use the joystic with ZXpand would be great too..

I was able to run it on EO by selecting 48K, Zon-X sound, Chr$ generator: Sinclair, High resolution:None, Colour: Chroma, ZXpand+: (unchecked) and Enable RAM on 8k-16k @Advanced Settings.

No luck with ZXPAND+ yet
