Had this beautiful item shipped in from Portugal. Gave it a good cleaning before setting it up for a photo.

Forgot to buy a power supply so it's just sitting pretty here until then.

Tested it today and everything works great except for the TV output (composite monitor output works fine).

I'm very happy with the computer as it is. The seller was very accommodating and helpful.

Are there any use cases where the TV output would be desirable? I can't think of any, other than actually hooking it up to an old TV.

Hi,

Your TC2048 looks nice and I like the bright and good looking keyboard.

Anyway, there could be an issue with the RF modulator if the composite output works fine. The most accurate schematic diagram of rev.5 attached.

Desirable? No!

If the composite video works fine, then I would not worry about it.

Which type of modulator is it? Which frequency does it modulate the video signal on to?

The hi-res schematic attached in the ZIP file.

Regarding Mark's query, any European TC2048 has got a UHF modulator which works on Channel 36. Timex used at least two makes of them, ASTEC UM1233 and Gintek UM-236E-1.
