Hi from Durham

Post by avrovulcan »

Hi all.

Over the last 12 months or so I have ditched my model railway hobby to go back to my first love of computers. Specifically the repair and restoration of retro computers.

At the moment I have about 25 machines in my collection, which includes my old ZX81 which was my first ever computer bought for me in Christmas 1983. This has a Memotec keyboard, Memotec 16K RAM pack and an AGF Joystick adaptor. For reasons that escape me now I removed the cases from all the equipment, with the exception of the Memotec keyboard. I fired this up recently and was pleasantly suppressing to find after being stored away for the last 34 years, that it still works.
I also have a 48K Spectrum+ that wad bought as a birthday present in 1985.
To add to these iv bought another ZX81 and an original rubber keyboard 48K and 16K Spectrums, all of which have a composite video modification. Lastly I was very fortunate in finding a ZX80 (minus its case) on ebay for £45. This is in the process of being restored st thr moment.

Anyway looking forward to taking part on the forum.

Kind regards
Andy
