Hi all i used to write my own code back in the 80s. Just purchased a zx81 my first computer all over again as well as the zx spectrum 48k. I am modding them both with a number of modern features.
List:
Add volume control for sound - in progress
Add on off swich - done
Replace regulators on both machines to reduce over heating which qill eventually dry out caps - done
Replace caps - in progress
Make compatibility for AV - done
Make compatable for HDMI - in progress
Add 10 inch monitor that powers on with device like a laptop - in progress
Add power on LED - in progress
Mod keyboard- in progress
Qrite some new code, in progress
Make some friends in the community to improve

Many thanks im developing a custom zx81 and spectrum and hope to share some pictures with you. I have started by changing the regulator. To reduce the heat output by 98% reducing excess wear on the machines capacitors photis to follow
