Lambda 8300 ULA
Lambda 8300 ULA
As the Lambda 8300 is a clone of the ZX81 it must have a chip like the ULA.
Does the Lambda 8300 use the same ULA as the ZX81 or is it different?
If it is different I assume it will be very hard to find.

Re: Lambda 8300 ULA
Yes, the Lambda has a different ULA. I'd say it is only possible to find replacements from other spare machines.

Re: Lambda 8300 ULA
If someone has teh chip identifier, we could always start a search for these....

Re: Lambda 8300 ULA
- NEC D780C is the Z80 CPU
- MN2114-3 is the RAM
- 2364CR01 is the ROM I assume
- C4005 2283 must be the Lambda's ULA

Yes, the 2364 part of the number indicates it's a ROM, 64k bit (8k byte).mrtinb wrote:2364CR01 is the ROM I assume
The 2283 is likely the date of manufacture, week 22 of 1983. So the part number is C4005.mrtinb wrote:C4005 2283 must be the Lambda's ULA

Re: Lambda 8300 ULA
That ULA is not going to be easy to find - could the other Lambda owners check to see if they have a different ULA (maybe a manufacturer name!)
Wonder if the ZX81 ULA would work?

Looks like the manufacturer's name is RCL.RWAP wrote:could the other Lambda owners check to see if they have a different ULA (maybe a manufacturer name!)

And the logo on the IC looks like the logo on this homepage: http://www.rcl.com.hk/mrtinb wrote:Looks like the manufacturer's name is RCL.

Great - that should helpmrtinb wrote:And the logo on the IC looks like the logo on this homepage: http://www.rcl.com.hk/mrtinb wrote:Looks like the manufacturer's name is RCL.
Are you sure it's the ULA at fault?
