Not tried the printer or tapes yet but everything else works ok.
Nice external keyboard. :)

A very nice issue one boxed and sold as working so will give it a go later.

Edit - works nicely.

Also has a ‘rare’ 622 ROM.

Ah so you're the one who was buying up all the ZX81's on Ebay and making it hard for me to get a decent one.

Sorry!

In my defence it was an auction and nobody else bid!

You're lucky, every one I bid on had loads of other bidders. I eventually managed to get a fully refurbed one for a bit more than I wished to pay, but it's a lovely machine and I've been having great fun re-living the old days.

Its going to end up as a fully refurbished one (16K internal RAM, new keyboard, caps, voltage regulator, ZX8-CCB) at some point. This takes a few hours and does cost a few pounds - typically just over £30 of parts plus the zeddy itself (and ebay taking just over 10% of the sale). More if there are missing feet or screws etc.
I don’t know about others but I rarely make much on refurbs. I do enjoy doing it though!

Its only really worth bidding on ones that finish in the middle of a week day.
