Lardo buys another zeddy

Post by Lardo Boffin »

So there are some people on here who think I buy a lot of zeddies. I guess compared to some I do but it’s not that excessive honest!
In order to keep track I thought I would post them on here as they arrive to prove I don’t have a zedddy / tribble problem (or do...).

Here is the first one, arrived today.

Its an issue one, quite early, ULA 8119, at least mostly working, bugged ROM (again!!!) zeddy.

Print SQR 0.25 gives the answer 1.3591409. Its plugged into a Chroma SCART and my very handy Memotech keyboard.

The case is in fair condition (all screws but only 1 foot - the early soft sponge type) and judging by how lose the power socket is I would say it has had a fair bit of use.

I buy these to refurb and sell on to supplement my retro habit but don’t like to touch these old / cool ones.

If anyone is interested its £20 (computer only, nothing done to it) plus p&p (which would be £4 in the UK). PM me if you are interested. :D

Lardo turns to face the other members of the group he has just joined and says....

With all due respect, starting the count now, is like starting to count humans in each country on the Earth after you have already been to China!

I’m thinking of using ZPPM for this thread (no, NOT pages per minute, but rather Zeddy posts per minute)!

So here is another one. :D

This one came with a nice, but possibly homemade keyboard?
Also
. A RAM pack (not yet tested), instructions and pack-in game
. Some tapes including an interesting (home copy?) of ZX Chess
. A PSU for the Sinclair TV (!!)
. A manual and some papers

The zeddy works fine as does the keyboard (although not yet extensively tested)! Nice.

I know I have a bit of fun over your zeddies lardo but in all seriousness the very fact that you are sending properly refurbished working 81's ,in a much better condition than what they were, back into the wild for others to enjoy and experience olde world computing is to your credit and you have my total respect for a job well done. :D

Best regards.

Moggy.

Thanks Moggy!

And in order to reinforce the comedy stereotype this also arrived today. :D

Not sure if it is working or not. I cannot tune it in to my glass screen telly. But it is definitely trying to make a picture and various chips are getting warm so fingers crossed.

Shame about the lower part of the case but hey ho.
