Sinclair ZX80 / ZX81 / Z88 Forums

I have a ZX Spectrum issue 2 board in need of restoration/repair.

It doesn't boot, but it does produce a video signal albeit a distorted one. When I put the ULA from an Issue 4 in the motherboard it showed a 1982 Sinclair Research, but the video was still distorted. I checked every chip has power.

My guess is it needs a ULA and perhaps a LM1889

I'd like to donate it to the community for parts or repair. Just pay for shipping. I'd be open to swapping also.

Retroleum do a replacement ULA called the Nebula. They are always out of stock but drop the seller a line - he is pretty good at letting you know when they are back in.
