I have this nice 5" LCD screen that comes from a video game system tha has video in and would like to hook it upto my ts1500. As an amateur electrician who fixes everything with electrical tape, can someone give me a step by step on how to wire the system and what parts I would need?

As a follow up, by wire the system I mean how to add video out to the ts1500.

Ermm.... presumably you could use the ZXvid ! :)

no need, TS1500 already has the back porch, the simple transistor mod will be just fine on the ts1500.

the input labels ULA pin 16 should of course be took from the modulator in the TS1500.

Call me stupid (or maybe naive), but what exactly is an NPN transistor?

BC548 or equivalent will do the job.

All you need to know is that it's cheap. ;)

And a 100-220 UF electrolytic cap on the video out to block the 2-3 volts of DC that seems to lurk there wouldn't go amiss.

Bill, whereabouts in the world are you?
There are many silicon transistors (which are used as both signal amplifiers and digital electronic switches) that will do the job.
NPN is a type of transistor (but not a part number), transistors are available in a number of different types.
Why do I need to know where you are? Well transistor numbering fall into four broad groups, American, European, Japanese and manufacturer specific.
If you are in, or can get American transistors, then we can suggest an American transistor.
The BC548 transistor is an European design.
Before I waffle on even further, can you solder?

Bill,
if you are not familiar with soldering or electronic components like transistors, you could use this service:

(Option C)

Just put you TS1500 in a box to the post office and wait when it's returned to you.
