Looks a bit similar to the one I’ve got inside my ZX81. Might have a look at that one and see if I can make it up on breadboard.

There no urgent need for a comp mod.
Unlike the ZX81 the video out of the ZX80 is strong and sturdy and can be directly used as video out.
Most monitors will give a good picture when directly connected to the modulator input.
In case your monitor is low quality you might need to add the back porch and my advice is to ask Pokemon from ginger Electronics what he can offer.

The handy thing with the ZX8-CCB video board is the ability to have inverse mode which is something I prefer with my ZX80.

As with many things, there are multiple ways of doing something.

Yes, there is a relatively simple modification to get composite video instead of using a modulator.

And yes, there are other 'modules' that can be used.

My earlier answer was to the specific question that was asked.
