Remembering an old 16K RAM Pack

Post by redgatemodels »

When I was a kid I had an aftermarket RAM pack on my Zeddy, it was smaller than the Sinclair one, in a rectangular black box. It was supplied with a foam pad to stick to the back of the ZX81 above the edge connector slot to help eliminate the dreaded wobble.

Anyone, else had one, remember the make etc? It was unbranded

Have you had a look through the hardware list? I quickly found this which might be what you're looking for?

Didn’t know about the hardware list, thanks 😁

It’s close from memory, but not quite. Mine was a smaller and fatter box if you get my drift, green edge connector certainly rings a bell though

Think I've just bought what I had, just over 16 quid too 😁

Photos please, including both sides of the PCB and some shots from different angles so that component labels/values/markings can be seen. :ugeek:

Sadly no names, numbers etc on the pcbs. As far as my memory serves this is what I had as a child, minus the strip of closed cell foam to hold it steady against the zeddy case

Looks like it was made in April 1982.
