Evil, evil rampacks! Mine works only when its case is open. If I try to add the cover and the screws, it locks the zeddy.

That sounds like a bad connection. Have you tried the solder iron, on every single solder point?

The ribbon cable its a nightmare... I would renew all the soldering both sides.. and the border connector..
If ICs are on sockets like mine there is really very little space in there. The ICs keeps almost touching their backs together...
