Are you talking about the heatsink or just your collection of Zeddies?

There are two power sockets:

As far as I can tell they appear to be joined together so I only need to use one?

If that is true, power fed to one of the sockets will also appear at the other socket! Not a good idea ...

I think, you should only use the lower socket for power input. The switch is used to switch on the Zeddy and (via a fuse?) also the upper socket (maybe to be used for a TV?).

I spent a bit of time continuity testing with the power off and found everything to be ok except for the power switch!

I toggled it a good few times and put a bit of Sevisol Super 10 in and finally got continuity on the switch.

All good!

Even the tape player works and loads!

Now I just need to make sure no low voltage wires are within 5mm of mains wires.

The power to the zeddy PCB is a bit close and the two tape cables may be as well. Some sort of bridge or plinth maybe?

If the cables can’t be moved to provide sufficient clearance, use a plastic separator.
If both the mains cable and the low voltage cables have good insulation, then the separation can be less. Or either can be sleeved.
The main point is that there should be no possibility of a mains wire being able to touch or rub against any metal of the low voltage side. Similarly there should be no possibility of a low voltage wire being able to touch or rub against any metal connector on the mains side.

Thanks Mark.

I transplanted my rebuilt zeddy inside and it works a treat. :D (still need to finish the switch on the ROM)

Then I decided to put my ‘Spand inside. Nope….

Going to hit the PSU.

OK. Put back the IO expander and then mount it on that.

Another nope. The case won’t shut because of the cassette player!

Guess I need to fit a WESPI!

WESPI and switch fitted so all good to go!

Also got some new key covers as they are looking a little tired:
