If anyone fancy i've made a bigger space for WESPI, 3MB free on a 8MB module.
Proof is here:

I finally started to try and fit one of these but had no heat shrink tubing so decided to put the components on a bit of verroboard instead. Wish I had cut the board a bit bigger…

Red is 5V and black is ground.

The wires go to the Wespi and the other side of the board will have wires going to the zeddy.

Any obvious gaffs? Most importantly is the tantalum capacitor the right way round?

Thanks!

What I've heard about capacitors it that normally (-) is marked, but on tantalum the (+) is marked. As I'm new to electronics, we better have the experts reply.

On my Wespi the (+) is with the line mark.

Thanks.

I could see a + on it which is slightly closer to one side than the other so went with that.

Fingers crossed.

Certainly not going to connect it up before someone who knows what they are doing has a look.

Apparently tantalum capacitors can explode…

Sorry Lardo, don’t bother applying for a job in a Chinese sweat shop, you won’t get the job! The density is not high enough because the board is far bigger than needed…

Normally when using strip board / Veroboard, tracks are cut either using a track cutting tool (a drill bit set in moulded plastic, which forms a handle) or a normal HSS metal drill bit. You twist it where there is one of the 1mm diameter holes until the copper track is completely broken.

Yes, the capacitor is mounted with the correct polarity.

Ahh. Not really done much with veroboard before. :D

Looking forward to the duck and cover moment!

Search for “stripboard track cutter tool”…
