Maxduino or Tzxduino firmware for a ZX81?

Post by gwpt »

Hi everyone, first post :)
I've just brought my zx81 back to life, given it a memory upgrade, composite out, fixed the keyboard and thought of a getting a virtual tape for it, like one of these:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tzxduino-Ma ... 4080943285

My dilemma is, It comes with 2 different firmware options and states both will work with the zx81.

Is there a clear choice for which is better? if not, what are the pros/cons?
Thanks

I have bought several of these from the same seller. I have the MaxDuino firmware installed - as well as working with the ZX81 it also works with my Oric 1, among others.

I guess if you only ever intend to use it with the ZX81 it doesn’t matter too much?
