I have enlisted for the last ZXpand+ call.. in the meantime I just started reading several howtos about it.
What I couldn't find anywhere is what kind of joystick are compatible with it? From the online manual I know joystic port has 10 pins so that rules out sinclair, kempston or atari compatible ones..
I have an Atari compatible one so is it adaptable, simple wiring or needs any kind of buffer?
I found lots of post talking about software porting and adapting.. won't a simple CONFIG J=xxxxx solve that? I guess not because all those threads

Re: ZXpand+ joystick Questions
The joystick connector, with suitable wiring and a suitable 9 pin D plug can be used by any Atari or compatible joystick. That is, a joystick containing four direction switches wired to a common, plus a fire button also wired to the same common.
Somewhere there is a diagram showing the wiring (sorry, I forget where).

Re: ZXpand+ joystick Questions
it has a 10 pin (5x2) connector on board.
You have to add a 9pin subd with a flat cable to connect joysticks to it.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.
