Possible dumb question,
I'd like to have an 8K BASIC ROM burned for my ZX80. What model EPROM should I ask for? 2364 or pin-compatible modern replacement?

The socket in a ZX80 is a 24 pin DIL type designed for ROMs like/similar to the TMS4732 or D2364C (see
here for a pin-out).
The only EPROM that is close to being compatible is the TMS2532 (but these are only 4K bytes). This does not matter if you only want the 4K bytes ZX80 ROM.
Most 8K bytes EPROMs have 28 pins including the TMS2564 and the 2764...
Alternatively buy either an adapter kit (but then the case will may not fit) like this
one.
Or a EEPROM already mounted on an adapter board, like this
one. I know these work, as I have used one. Although as I used it for testing during a repair, I never checked the height to see if refitting the case would be a be a problem. But as it is not too high, I don’t think it would be a problem.
