I recently acquired a ZX81 in a custom case with a nice looking keyboard (from Germany, possibly already known to the forums). I opened it up to have a look at the state it was in as I couldn’t get anything from it when powered on (handwritten sticker says 7.5V next to the power socket), opening it broke the soldered keyboard connectors.
Anyone know anything, can tell me anything useful/interesting about it (case/keyboard or Zeddy itself) please? I can see it’s an Issue 1 with a ULA2C184E. It may be a while until I get the time to fix it and troubleshoot it.
What can you tell me about this custom case ZX81?

Wow. That looks like a great keyboard.
Even though your keyboard is not connected. Does the screen display [K], when you connect 7.5V?

The keyboard is described here: ISS Standard Moving Keyboard

I think i’ll have to composite mod it to test it, didn’t get anything when I tried to tune it in on my lcd tv (that still has analogue tuner but no fine tune mode), I’ve had an old 2600 tuned in partially so it (tv) does work on older systems (bad bad image though).
Good find on that keyboard, this one has been modded to have the ZX81 internal and a slot cut out for the interface.
