Looking for Aerco FD-ZX documentation

Post by 8008guy »

Hi all!

Thank you for allowing me to join your forum. I've lurked here for a while.

Back in the 80's I built a ZX81 from a kit. After some time using the built in keyboard I bought a surplus mechanical keyboard and rewired it for use with my ZX81. I used clear epoxy to glue on the keycap legends that I cut out of an advertisement. I also bought a floppy drive interface from Aerco.

Sadly after I got into IBM compatible PC's I gave my ZX81 system to the good will. (I will always regret that.) I also gave my home built 8008 away at the same time...

I am now trying to reconstruct my ZX81. I did find a FD-ZX floppy controller! Now I am looking for documentation. Can anyone help me out?

Cheers,

len

Hello len

Welcome :D

There is a little bit of info in a link from this Timex page... (scroll down to other disk interfaces).

There are four lights!
Step up to red alert. Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb :!:
Looking forward to summer later in the year.

HI,

Still looking for a manual. :(

Also... When I pulled the EPROM to back it up on my controller it turned out to be blank. Might anyone have the firmware around for this controller?
