Cor blimey! Is this the best zeddy keyboard ever?
Cor blimey! Is this the best zeddy keyboard ever?
A very generous overseas zeddy friend decided that my frustrations with an unmarked DIY keyboard should be ended. So with enormous thanks to Mike I can say that they have indeed been ended! And how. I can't say how much better this is, words simply cannot describe
... ...
This is a model of keyboard that I never encountered on this, the UK side of the big pond. It's a properly designed unit with individual cherry switches in a metal support structure, very much like the beeb board in construction with slightly softer, less clacky sound. If the keyboard click fetishists would like a sound sample I'll be happy to oblige
I have to say - the legends on the switches make a HUGE difference when hacking on some codes or other. I've been chasing a bug in the new ZXpand+ firmware tonight and it would have been much harder if I'd had to play hunt the token or refer to the paper guide at each key press

That looks (and sounds by the description) great. I'd love to find one for sale.

Yes.. alas that is what I had as a child or should I say as a younger child... <aside> Yes Dear!
Though there still was that slight keyboard delay. The key had to be held down long enough and hard enough.
I suspect there may have been different variations in switches but can't be sure. There were a lot of choices back then.
