Hi Mike !

I think that you can use the ROM dumped that comes with the VB81_XUR. Attached is copy just in case that you like to try it.
BTW: That would be great to see some pictures of your ZX1541 :)

Thanks for the replies' I sent PM with my email address...
also thanks for the file .. but I need the P. file to run on the Timex 1500 I have and it will write to the EEPROM.. with the ZX1541...
I will post some pics a soon as I can.. I also have the IECATA which is really for the C< 64/128's but it can be accessed with the ZX1541 as a DIsk drive ,, it uses a IDE hard drive or a Compact flash card,, i use an adapter and a CF card.. works really great...I have a ZX1541 I bought already assembled,, but I bought blank boards from Jarek a while back and am just now getting it assembled..

I can't locate Jarek.. so could any of you Software/Hardware guru's help.. what I am trying to do is to program a EEPROM via the ZX1541 interface,, I have the older P file Ver 1.1 .. and you are supposed to load that into the TS1500 with the ZX1541 attached via the back edge connecter with a Blank 28C64 installed,, but I don't know how to get the TS1500 to load the software onto the 28C64.. I suppose some kind of Poke's? when the 28C64 is burnt you are supposed to start the ZX1541 by : RAND USR 12300 then enter.. if that helps... any help would be greatly appreciated...

Regard,,, Mike

Well, it's been a while since i did this, so forgive me if I'm vague. I recall the process was quite simple. I believe you just remove the write protect jumper, and run the .p program from the ZX81.
However if you are using the older 1.1 version then I believe your entry point is actually 8192 not 12300. I think I have V1.2 installed in my ZX81 (machine is packed away at present), and there are two .p files available for that, one with the 12300 entry point, and the other with 8192. I use the 8192.

I have attached the zip file for the 1.2 version which includes the following:

ZX15412.ASM - source of 1.2 version that has 8192 entry point
ZX15412.P - file to load into ZX81 to upgrade (8192 entry)
ZX15412.TXT - readme file
ZX15412A.P - file to load into ZX81 to upgrade (12300 entry)
ZX15412.ROM - file to fill 28C64 (both 8192 and 12300 entries)

Hope this helps

Philip

P.S. you can see my setup here:
http://web.mac.com/lord_philip/sinclair ... _ZX81.html
...since that picture was taken I've added a µIEC card in conjunction with the ZX1541 and it works great.

Thanks for your reply... I have a working ZX1541,, with Ver 1.1 but entry is 12300 this was built by Jarek.. if you use 8192 it just goes into never never land,,, I downloaded the files you sent.. but my problem is how to load the P file .. I have tried to convert the ZX1541P files into wav files but they won't convert.. But of course I can put them on the 1541 drive and then load them ,but that is with the working ZX1541 connected not he one I have just built..do you have any Ideas how I can load the file?
I first got my ZX81 as a Kit in 82 or 83 .. After building it worked first time.. I then built an interface I saw in a MAG. it had A whopping 13K with some 6116 sram...Spending hrs Typing in prg's from mags.. I still have the 13K interface..

Hey what a great system.. looks very professional! everything nice and neat...

DID you build your ZX5141.. ? I still havn't go the one I built working prpoerly yet (using the 28C64 from the working ZX1541)... when you enter Rand Usr 12300 the screen just rolls and wiggles,,,

Reagrds... Mike

Just curious, how exactly do you get the .p file onto your 1541?

Can load the .p file using the 1541 you already have, then save it to tape, then reload it on your other setup?

Unfortunately I have just moved apartments so all my stuff is in boxes, otherwise I could probably help more. If I can find the box with my PC laptop, maybe I still have my .wav file there. I'll look once the rest of the family wakes up.
