Very nice!
Are you going to add an on/off switch to disable it for tape loading?

Thanks! And I thought it automagically allowed for direct tape loading... page one of this thread says '.. It senses when a jack is connected for comms with a real tape recorder/maxduino/tzxduino and will not trigger' or has that since proven to be problematic? I've not tested cassette load yet - don't have the devices necessary (yet).Lardo Boffin wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 9:17 am Very nice!

I did briefly noodle with the idea of adding an additional button to the case to allow a soft reset (short the Z80 reset signal to ground). Would save unplugging-replugging the power connector to reset. Might still, but that's for future. Still working out the design bugs, as it were.

It does support tape loading but I have fitted at least 10 of these and I could not get any of them to load from tape! I can see that they are trying but they never load anything - tape or TZXDuino.
In the end I started fitting a switch on the Ear and ULA lines:

Ah, interesting. I'll have to test for that once I get some sort of tape playback device.
Nice looking wiring! Very neat job.

Sorry if its been mentioned but what about compatibility with a smaller board like a Wemos S2 Mini?
Re: ZX-WESPI - add a cheap wifi-enabled fileserver to your Zeddy!
My belief is no.
If your looking for a smaller board that does work - you can use this one

I don’t think it has all the pins accessible for the LCD version of the WESPI - but it can definitely handle the minimal wespi (hooking up to SVP,IO22,VCC,GND pins) - I’ve done two zx81s with these already

Oooh, that looks interesting. Might have to see if I can create a tiny version of my external PCB to accommodate. Another fun challenge!mikeh_nz wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 7:26 am
