Received the replacement 2C158E ULA from Moggy earlier. Looking forward to having a look at this later :D

Luckily I was working from home today so tore into this immediately after finishing up :)

Got the new ULA in (thanks again, Moggy!) and the CCB wired up:

Attached the scope to the input, immediately things are looking better:

Finally, a quick tune of the CCB, and we have success (including the slight drift to the right of the top pixel line that is characteristic of the 2C158E ULA):

Didn't know that. ;)
Congratulations and when you compare, the signal at pin 16 looks much better now and it is as I thought that the sync driver inside the ULA must be broken. Maybe due to thermal aspects.

Not only a pixel drift but a slight weaving or "breathing" effect on the whole screen could be observed with some of these very early ULA's as well.
