Right Martin, the MEMOCALC too...
Only the PAL used to change the ROM, install a different boot strap.
The MT11 PBC host a configuration strap to set both EPROM startup address and ROM/RAM shipset.

The assembler only has one EPROM not two, so not just a PAL change between the two boards.

I might be able to glue the original broken edge connector with superglue gel, which can be built up to be stronger than thin superglue can be.
I'll have to try as I like the original connector and they're unobtanium these days.

Edge connectors today is a regular ISA-slot cut to size with a Dremel.

The pass-through needs the long pins also, probably not possible with a cut-down connector.

Even with the modern edge-connectors, it's sometimes possible to have a pass-through. It depends on the actual connector, how much you can bend the pins and the PCB pad size.

I've tried the repair with superglue gel and I've resoldered the connector, I'll have a continuity check before I solder on the pass-through.

I've noticed the original soldering isn't 100%, the 47n ceramic capacitor between IC9 and IC10 has no solder on the back was the most obvious.

Hopefully the RAM pack will once again work.

I'm thinking about whether the repaired connector can support the weight of the Memopak case, as well as the weight of anything connected via a pass-through.

It might be the case that it'd be better off out of the case.

Looks good and nice to see something resurrected . :D

It should be OK I would have thought as the case doesn't weigh a ton and a half and is self supporting once attached and doesn't hang off, or touch the edge connector. I did a similar repair on a Zonx-81 module about four or five years ago which is a damn sight bigger and heavier than a Memotech RAM pack and is still going strong.

Just be careful when attaching/un-attaching it and if possible once attached leave it that way.
