TS1500's special chip removal

Post by dessony »

Hey all of you,

I successfully removed a special chip from a computer board! 8-) I used ChipQuik SMD Removal Kit. The company's website is www.chipquik.com. The TS1500's special chip is and working similar to the ZX81/TS1000's ULAs with more pins and features. I will post a few pictures here before this upcoming weekend. Please share your opinions with us here on this one.

Cheers,

I hope that you learn something new about the TS1500's ULA area on the board.

Was this chip and / or board dead then?

1024MAK,

NEITHER!

They are not JUNK! I plan to do something to the chip and the board in the future. For the chip, I would try to build a new board with the chip in mind and 27C64/28C64 and MN4264-12, HM628512 or similar included. For the board, I would try to hook up it with 40 pins IC socket and put an ULA '210 on it then and test it. Also double-check against the TS1500 pin out listing which I already posted it here in the past.

Regards,

Mark,

Thanks. I really need bola-dor's big help on the TS1500 clone board building section. Like reverse-engineering the board and drawing a schematic. Finding the 68 pins socket for the TS1500 special chip.

Cheers,
