Greetings fellow inhabitants of Sinclair World!

Here is version 1.8 of the file manager program 'ZXpand-Commander'.

With this program you can:
  • Browse directories and files
  • Execute programs
  • Create subdirectories
  • View text file and monochrome BMP file content
  • Delete files and empty subdirectories
  • Rename files and directories
  • Move and copy files
Help is always available by pressing shift-h. When editing file names or paths you can use shift-space to cancel the edit.

The program comes with full source code. Please submit any improvements or feature upgrades back to me for inclusion in the official release.

For full functionality you should have firmware version 2.2 or above flashed to your ZXpand interface. For instructions on how to do this please consult the documentation.

I have to go to work soon :( , and am currently dribbling everywhere (but that maybe something to do with the gammon I'm eating).
Good work that man Image Image Image(at least it had better be, seeing as I won't have time to test it until next week... )

Thanks guys,

I could keep going and picking at bits and pieces but I think I should leave it to settle now, and see what people say.

You have NO IDEA how DELIGHTFUL was for me to DELETE the *.bin file after reflashing.
Delete!! :) On ZX81!!! Without the highly annoying moving the card to PC!!!
AT LASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST!!! ;)

OK, I will test the newest version today, I hope.
We go to the Spectrum/Atari meeting tomorrow, so it might be difficult BUT - for sure I will copy the commander and at least will be testing it on the party. So results will be a little bit later, that's all.
But I'm sure everything works fine.

THX A LOT FOR THE COMMANDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK just tried out the ZX-commander, using Firmware 2.2beta and ROM V6.6,

loading works OK now, Delete is still not right, when you delete a file, the window now has 2 highlight bars, 1 at the top the other at the location where the file you deleted was, the window is also de-void of information, you can move the highlight bar (not the one at the top) up and down, if you scroll off the bottom you start to get file names again, however it continues to scroll past the end of that folder and starts displaying files from the other window... eventually crashing if you scroll past the end of that, if you move the bar to the top it gets stuck there, you can still switch back to the other window.
