The music-album made on ZX81+ZXpandAY+MrX! :)
Re: The music-album made on ZX81+ZXpandAY+MrX! :)
Well, I wasn't able to find the proper old thread about the *.TS files so I put it in here.
Although this time it's rather "music made FOR ZX81+ZXpandAY+MrX" because, as You remember, at the moment my main machine has died (keyboard). But from time to time I should make something for TurboSound users.
Here is the file: http://zx81.republika.pl/yerzmix7.TS
And here is the recording from real ZX81 http://yerzmyey.i-demo.pl/Yerzmyey-Yerzmix_7.mp3
- for TS owners to know how to set mixer more/less
- for ZX81 users who don't own TurboSound - to let them know they SHOULD get one.
Enjoy this small 'summer / holidays song'.

Y

Thanks again, mates.
The strange thing is, when I connect MrX and then all the ZXpand - it works fine with ZX81.
But when I plug in the same combo into Timex 1000, it can't see the ZXpand (only reset button works).
But ZXpand alone works with Timex1000 correctly. Hmm. A pity.

Strange - perhaps the combination is drawing too much power for the TS. The ZX81 may have a better power section.
Re: The music-album made on ZX81+ZXpandAY+MrX! :)
Aha. I see.
Ah well, a pity anyway.
I wanted to make something new audio stuff on ZX81 but this mine issue has problems with zx-bus stability. Timex1000 looked much more stable.
OK then, I will manage it somehow, I always do, haha.

Sorry for my question, but did you check with the zx81 recently or was this former experience?yerzmyey wrote:Thanks again, mates.

If this was currently retested, which power source do you use?
How many mA ist the psu?
Can you try a different psu?
Kind regards
Paul
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

Actually the ZX81 works fine and see both devices.

I gather, You mean the Timex1000. It has a standard Timex power supply, being sold with the machine. Of course it's an American plug, so I use also some... 'go-through' plug that changes it into central European plug. Maybe this is what makes problems (it looks like some bigger and more complicated device than the one changing form UK plug).
Anyway, I have never tested the Timex before because this is the one that guys fixed on ZX81 Party, last times.

Greetz,

PS: Today I leave my city but will be back on-line after the weekend.

Re: The music-album made on ZX81+ZXpandAY+MrX! :)
Hi, just gonna chip in here... I'm no expert, but I used to have a friend from the US and he would plug his appliances into a converter when he was in Germany, to adapt plug for the German sockets. Bottom line is, half the time they didn't work. Things like lamps often worked, but anything electronic or with a motor was basically a dead loss. He said you needed a transformer rather than just a plug adaptor. And since the TS1000 power supply *is* a transformer, that basically means you'd need a different power supply... hope that helps!
