I read this on Twitter: j2z80 - A Translator of JVM byte code into Z80 instructions - Google Project Hosting: http://bit.ly/FQywPL #z80 #programming

I've not tried it, but it seems rather interesting and they run the generated code in FUSE (ZX Spectrum emulator) so it should not be too difficult to get the code to run on a ZX81.
