Amazing! It makes what I am doing look like Kindergarten stuff.

You can use the $403c to $407a memory block ?
I code outside the ZX81 and built a .p file.
With this method you don't need to follow the rules for input in BASIC.

I place a startline of BASIC over sysvar, the machinecode to start over sysvar and even code on compressed screen.
That code copies over stack and intrupts are delayed so I can run that code to decompress screen.

Not a single byte wasted.

I think this will be the final screen.

I now have 80 bytes free to code what I am missing.

2 ghosts are eaten, 2 still in chase. When ghosttime runs out the captureghosts turn in inverted A before they become A again.

I have 9 bytes left and I think the game is ready. Maybe a celebration when level is done, but how?

The time to eat ghosts stays the same but the ghosts speed up to the speed of the player.

1 point for each dot, also power dot.
100 points per ghost.

No bonusitems.

I spent the remaining bytes to give powerpills more points.
I also altered the maze again and I altered the view.

This is final.

An absolutely brilliant achievement!

I am a sure your other games are equally clever in maximising their use of memory but being familiar with Pacman this one somehow feels most impressive to me.

I definitely prefer the new maze appearance - more pleasing on the eye than in black and the ghosts stand out more.

How I would have loved this game back when I first got my ZX81 and only had 1K. Please could you invent a time machine next (does not have to be in 1K) and go back and release it back then!
