New T/S 1500 Rubber Keyboard Mats

Post by RWAP »

I have received a quote for new rubber keyboard mats.

The main stumbling block is the initial cost of the engineering (to create the mould) - £2250

After that, there is design costs of £240 for the printing (per model).....

Rubber mats would then cost £9.60 each (based on a run of 250)

I know these rubber mats would fit the T/S 1500, the ZX Spectrum and possibly the TK85 ?

However, I just do not think that there would be enough of a market - you are talking of an investment of nearly £5000 - which would mean the mats would have to all be sold at £20 each just to break even (!)

Unfortunately it looks a bit of a dead duck - unless there is enough interest!
