Kelly,

I came home from my business travels this week and found the package with the completed JOY81 card. I plugged it into my TS1000 and then plugged my ZXpand-AY card into the other side of the JOY81 to piggy back it. I turned it on and everything came up normal. I turned the TS1000 off and unplugged the JOY81 from the ZXPand-AY and saw the white spacer on the ZXPand-AY came out and was stuck to the JOY81. I used pliers and pulled it out and placed the spacer back into the ZXPand-AY. The JOY81 board held the spacer very tight. I took a utility knife and carefully shaved a small amount of the board down between the spacer slot. Now the ZXPand-AY spacer does not stick to the JOY81 board. Just something to think about when you have boards made to have little more space in the slot. :)

I plan on testing out the board this weekend or next week while on business travel again.

Thanks again!

I knew of this problem, but in the rush I forgot to make the necessary adjustments... Please, forgive me for this failure

No problem. I just wanted to point it out if this batch of boards were like that. I was able to test it out with CMDR-JOY.p and ZXpand and I programmed the configuration text file for ZX81kong.p. This is a pretty neat board and I recommend it !

Thanks,

Tim

A short status update for german Joy81 customers.

My item is delayed and hangs at the german customs service for about 7 days...

Today I called them and asked how long it will take to release the item. The answer was very unsatisfactory: the process might take between three and six (!) weeks from now.

"We receive more than 10.000 items per day and we (the german customs authority) do not have the capacity to handle this."

Unbelievable....

I hope the will release it soon after inspection.

Best regards

Mathias

Got my 2 boards today. The "HZA Gießen - Zollamt Bad Hersfeld -" seems to work faster ;-)

Thanks

My Joy81 works :-)

I use it with a VG64 connector (for ZX96 bus).

But I have a problem: when I program the keys using the SETJOY program and enter "confirm", my Zeddy crashes, but the keys are programmed as expected :-)
The program seems to do an OUT 127,.. instruction, which causes a bank-switch in my Zeddy (disables the ZX81 rom and enables the SPONZY rom). So I have to switch back to ZX81 rom and reboot.

Kelly: which ports are written (using OUT) by the SETJOY program?

Thanks
Siggi
