I don't remember where I got this from but it's pretty interesting. I particularly like Figure 1 which shows the cost in time of saving bytes. Byte saving should only be used if absolutely necessary, especially in a loop. Hope this hasn't been posted before.

Thanks a lot. I had never seen the time used for byte saving before. So it was an interesting read.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.
