Question for the hardware experts.

According to Mark the ZX81 needs another chip for hires, but afaik this is only needed when the game needs the extra RAM pack.

I would like to know if the games run on an unmodified 1K ZX81.

If so then I can reject his claim of using "steroids" to run the games.

Well, the games use the WRX hi-res scheme don't they?

WRX needs a modification to the 16K RAM pack - why is that needed and what does it actually do? Fingers crossed the games work in a 1K unmodified ZX81...
