Hello Dr. Beep,
unfortunately the game doesn't run with graphics on my EO. Just black blocks. Where can I get the Hi-Res Scheme?
Heinz
Change settings in hardware/hires graphics WRX.

Goodluck!

Not running for me either in EO 1.21

Settings:
H-R: WRX
RAM Pack: None

Same problem with 2PAXMAN, other 1k-wrx works fine

EO v1.21 makes an intrupt before screen is built. I delayed the intrupt, now working on EO v1.21

Small fix made. Moment of intrupt made an impossible loop.

siggi wrote: Fri Feb 05, 2021 9:33 am I tried to run it on my Zeddy, which has a "zx81x2.rom". But the program remains in the initial screen.
Same on EO, when using also the "zx81x2.rom".
But it works on EO, when using the "zx81x2m.rom", which has the original NMI-routine (necessary to use it on ZxMore), which is slightly slower than the patched NMI-routine of "zx81x2.rom".
Is that the easter egg? ;)

SHOGUN 1K

The boardgame SHOGUN from 1979 is now converted to a 1K game for the ZX81.
It needed a full rewrite of the game earlier coded in 16K.

The game starts with the X.

The cursor starts on top,
After a move the cursor remains on the last position.
You play black and make the first move.
Controls are QAOP for movement and Z to select a stone.

If you selected the wrong stone you can deselect it by placing it at an empty field not in range
of the stone.

For the SHOGUN the value of 1 or 2 is displayed as "I" or "Z".
Game over when shogun is hit or just 2 stones remain.
When you win the empty fields change in "+"
When you lose the empty fields change in "-"
A wrong endfield will end in a "?"
When your shogun is attacked the empty fields change inverted.

I noticed an error in the AI of SHOGUN1K.

Been repairing it all day just to fit it again in 1K.
Also changed the cursor.

Name of Software: MAKE-A-SHIT
Author: Johan "Dr Beep" Koelman
Release Date: 04/09/2021
Requirements (eg. 1K, 16K, AY Card, Hi-Res Scheme): 1K hires

MAKE A SHIT

In MAKE A SHIT you play a straydog with an overactive digestive system.
After each step you empty your bowels. The local dogcatcher cleans what
you leave behind, but definitely wants to stop you.

The dogcatcher follows a random path. When he sees shit he will follow it
until no more shit is around him.
When the dogcatcher gets you it is game over.

You don't get points for dropping what you ate, but you get a point for each
piece of shit the dogcatcher cleans. You need to make the dogcatcher follow you to
get points.

After loading you can define your own controls. All keys are allowed
however NewLine will start a new game.

The idea of the game to make something like pacman but without a fixed maze.
