DEFENCE FORCE UDG.

Post by Moggy »

Being at a loose end I browsed through the pages of that most excellent site,"The type fantastic" and came across this little gem written by a lad of fourteen.

Taken from the magazine...

DEFENCE FORCE for Sinclair ZX-81
by Greg Jarvis
from Sinclair Programs, November 1984

Defence Force has many features including five skill levels, three
types of enemy, four lives, on-screen scoring and a high-score table.
As always, the object is to protect your base from the approaching
enemy. You have a force field to protect you, but once this has gone
defeat is imminent.

Written for the 16K ZX-81 by Greg Jarvis, aged 14, of Bridgwater,
Somerset.

I've created some UDGs for various bits and bobs but retained most of the original block graphics as I think the blend is a good one.

Those of you with the Big Bang x2 ROM will find this reasonably quick for a BASIC game.

As per my other efforts...

All three files in same folder.

UDG4ZXpand owners set it to 128 mode.

Eighty One, select Chr$ 128

SZ-81 select UDG

To use load and run the file "DEFREM.P" and it will do the rest, on screen instructions provided.
