Hi Dr Beep
I’m very impressed with your game
1 Karat Bejeweled clone in 1k with hires graphics.
That’s a great challenge. Not too easy not too hard.

Thanks,
Although I used the base of BEJEWELED.
Only altered it to my own gameplay.
BTW still working on a new game at the moment, but a bit of tired of coding.

I wrote the base 1k game. It was called Chain Reaction. It's posted here somewhere. It wasn't in hi-res of course.

Out of curiosity, is it possible to fail in Chain Reaction? I've never got to the end of a game. I'm guessing this is maybe why Dr B wrote a new version with "lives".

I don't recall after all this time. It probably just means you get stuck and can't make any more moves. I'd have to re-read the code for it.

Yeah, I *think* I've reached a point here where there definitely aren't any more moves. I guess it'd take quite a lot of code to recognise failure and that's not going to be an option in 1K so the player has to do it themselves.
