So, did I miss something, or are these enhancement files available anywhere?

See page 2 - you need the Chroma interface to get the extra colour

Cheers, found it with a search. For some reason the link I followed here wasn't showing me the previous posts. Patches applied and running :)

These patches are amazing, but is anyone else getting a block around the player when they move? It happens whether they're moving left or right, but it seems to involve only the left-facing graphic. Every time you touch the controls, the block toggles on and off. I've had a look in CPEC and everything looks fine.

I've tried the files again and I don't see the issue you describe. Are you testing in an emulator or real hardware? If an emulator then which one?

I've managed to reproduce the issue you reported using the EightyOne emulator by setting the Chr$ Generator setting in the Hardware dialog to dk'tronics instead of CHR$16. Even with CHR$16 mode selected, the same issue is seen if the output format selected in CPEC is 8K-64; it needs to be 8K-128. Does this resolve the issue for you?

I'm using the Retropie port of EightyOne. The options are different but I'll see if I can make use of that info, ta.

Nope, no good. These are the only options you get:

If you change the 8K-16K setting to anything else the game crashes.

What's actually happening is that instead of triggering the second character frame (the one where the man is way over to the right) it's inverting the first one (presumably because the second frame is the inverse ZX81 character). After much trial and error in Chroma I managed to bodge up a fix where it's the first frame all the time without the block appearing around it, but goodness knows how I did it.

(PS I tried to reply to your PM, but the reply is sitting in my Outbox with no apparent way to actually send it.)
