Hi there.

Normally ZX81 is a master of arcade games. Probably no other computer has better ones.

But I was wondering if You guyz know any good platform games for ZX81?

I mean something like Andre's excellent "Yoogor"

(I finished and it was GREAT fun),

or "Treasure Hunter"

mentioned before, in another thread.

If You know any cool platform games, plz share the info. ;)
AND THE DOWNLOAD LINK!! :)

Greetz (and Happy New Year)!

I almost don't believe there are no regular platform games for ZX81 (16K of course).
Would it be true I already found ALL of them (TWO)?

Actually I'm asking because of last correspondence with Bobs and his plans for future progs.
Looks like I suggested well to try some platform-games then.

There was of course Mazogs and 3D Monster Maze or don't they count?

Manic Miner of course!

I have to admit I had not seen either of those two games - donwload links would be appreciated!

Actually they're not platform-games. Although "Mazogs" is splendid, it's still a labyrinth-game (without gravity).
Thx for reminding it 'though. :) I will play it soon.
Also the 3D Monster Maze is a labyrinth-game (however it's a 3D game).

Ah. Good point. Difficult like f*ck but surely an excellent example of platform-game. Canonical, I could say.
Anybody else knows such a game?
Hm. Actually I thought there are more of them. ZX Spectrum for instance is "strong with such games", heh.

Sure thing, man, lemme serve You -

(it's not very fast BUT it's not a disadvantage, as the game is more like adventure (logical?) platorm stuff. Also animation of the main hero is like from Prince of Persia. :)

That platform stuff is more 'arcade' - fast and assembler-made.

Enjoy!

Ah yes, Rocket Man was a favourite at the time...

I don't remember either Krazy Kong or the Bouncing Bert!

Thanx, man.
The RocketMan IS hard.
Argh.

What is a purpose of it? I took some fuel and was able to fly, however when I got the rocket, I wasn't able to move into left (there are some diamonds or whatever?). Weird.

The purpose is to collect the gems - read the inlay on http://www.zx81stuff.org.uk/zx81/genera ... etMan.html You can get onto the platforms you have to take your finger off the space key and glide in!!

The bubble that tries to trap you reminds me of the Prisoner TV series!

There is a video of someone playing it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1Fxbe_315U

If you are interested, there was a platform game published in Your Computer in May 1985 called Surviver.
