Do you compress the gfx?
Yes, the gfx routine is the same ... regard the first release.
A 4bits *compression*.
Not, really a GIF methode, but i take the 8 first ZX Ascii chars map and 8-128 th chars.
It allow to display 18 pictures in 3,2 kb.
To convert a binary BMP map, we had to use a tool (placed in Res/Pictures directory).

It include in "Something to do : in Paris" !

Have Fun.

4 bits - do you use the grey characters, or just represent each of the 4 'sub-pixels' in each character?

Hi,

just represent each of the 4 'sub-pixels' in each character !
We can't use grey chars because of it's greater the 4bits counter.
We had to use 5bits in this case and it's hard to decode (11111 / 111 : 11/11111/1: 1111/1111 : 1/...)
And take more room in memory and Bmp are B&w.
But, we can try to add a bit !

You could 'overlay' the greys using a traditional run-length encoding.

But no matter - I think the gfx are excellent even without the greys :)

BTW - did you just see the tumbleweed roll past? Is it just you and me these days?? ;)

It's very quiet without the #1 poster Yerz!

He must be on holiday :)

Hi :)

I just had some troubles with free time, as I organize (small but international) 8-bit meeting next weekend and it's time-consuming.
Of course ZX81 will be also present (sadly only one because I have just one power-supply for 2 ZX81s) with MP3 player as data's storage.

Greetzzz!! :) :) :)

Oh, nothing very official, really. The site is here http://factor6.ic.cz/ivp/ but as I said it's a small meeting. :)
Previously mostly Spectrum related. Last times with more 8bit comps. ;)
