Diagram for making your own cartridges?

Post by cj7hawk »

Hi All,

Are there any preexisting circuit layouts for DIY ROMs. or otherwise a set of details for mechanical properties of the card to make your own?

Regards

Just import the lib & mod file from the zipped file.
built from the previous diagram...
You had to check holes places.

Hi,

My update from the scanned PCB...
Unfortunately, there's only the front side.
You had to meticulously check the real PCB, to update this project...

Note: The connector width had to be adjust to the real socket.

Wow! This is impressive.

One comment, the cartridge seems to be too wide and it would not fit into the slot.

There are no contacts on the other side because sockets are single sided. See photos.

Just an FYI for any interested parties - I ordered some of my 1M Flash design from JLCPCB and my order arrived yesterday. Only after soldering a chip in place and trying it in my Z88 did I discover that the pitch on the Z88 connector is incorrect. It appears that the correct spacing for the pins is 1.25mm, but @XavSnap's connector is spaced at 1.27mm.

I'm planning to fix up my design over the next couple of days - watch this space.
