Had my first computer at age of 12 in 1981 - a ZX-81. I kept it for many years until a cat ruined it and a box of Atari 2600 cartridges by spraying them all. Everything was unsalvageable and I just put it out of my mind. 30 years in IT and I never had the thrill with computers like I did with my ZX81 and then Atari 800! Not having the Z kept nagging at me though and today I finally ordered my 2nd Z from an online seller, hooray! I hope it works! If not I hope I can get help here diagnosing any problems with it so I can have fun with one again.
Cheers

Re: Hello from USA
Amazing how that crap little computer box launched thousands of IT workers... Did for me and a friend too - still in it 40 years later.

Tell me about it. I retired from full time IT work in 2017 but have doing it part time on consulting basis since then. The pay is better than when I was full time so I get new toys like this ZX81
Re: Hello from USA
With no pension, I'm afraid to leave my full time job, but thankful to have one. Thanks America. lol.

Re: Hello from USA
I hear you. Every day my wife and I count our blessings. I work part time to pay for health insurance. Malignant melanoma last summer turned my world upside down and I now take everything day by day. Still consider myself lucky with so many people hurting.
Anyway enough of that, back to waiting for my Z.
