Great to meet you
Re: Great to meet you
Sorry to hear of your woes Trevor, we can work together on getting something that we're both happy with.
For the decals I'm considering using water-slide transfer paper like that below, then I can use the PDF that Moggy shared to produce my own transfers. I already have a can of matt clear spray sealer that I can use afterwards to protect them. Any thoughts before I give it a try?

Re: Great to meet you
Thanks Mark
I did think about contacting Dave directly, but don't want to make a nuisance of myself as I'd already had to contact him about getting the ROM for my Minstrel 3. I suppose it's nothing ventured, nothing gained though so I'll give it a try . He too can only say no

I can actually hear this in HAL's voice and cant' shake it!
Re: Great to meet you
..he said no
It does sound like he wants to reopen at some point, but corona/covid is causing postal issues hence he's closed for the moment.
New update on his blog (probably prompted by my mail - which makes me feel bad)
http://blog.tynemouthsoftware.co.uk/202 ... losed.html
..and I must point out, my email was apologetic and respectful - so I don't believe the last few sentences apply to me.
At the moment the future of my Minstrel is undecided. I'm going for the internal memory upgrade on my original '81, as I know there's support out there if i have issues.
I'll probably mothball the Minstrel until i can get a ZXpand - If I can't load anything, what's the point of using it.

Re: Great to meet you
His latest blog entry is most likely because he has been asked at least three times (once by you, once by a member of StarDot and I’ve heard of one other, but not by me) in the last week or so.
I think COVID19 Corona virus has just increased the amount of hassle too much for him.

Re: Great to meet you
I think COVID19 Corona virus can corrupt the ZX81 ROM, too…
