New to the ZX-81

Post by ClarkWGriswold »

Hi Everyone,
I picked up a ZX-81 a few days back, had been after one for a while but wasn't willing to pay some of those ridiculous eBay prices. I have a Spectrum (and a fair bit of Commodore stuff), so this should complement it nicely!

Get an MP3 player, download some ZX81 software and see what this little machine can do. They are a lot of fun and can do more than you might expect.

Can also be loaded by playing WAV on PC with soundcable into ZX81.

Hi ClarkWGriswold,

Well done with the purchase and I hope you will enjoy this black aerodynamic door stopper

For loading p. files into your Zeddy, get the TZXduino, it works like a charm.

You can also build a TZXduino yourself. I use an Arduino with a SD/ethernet shield, and I've created my own custom button/ear shield, and my own custom 7-segment shield to display first characters of the filename.

It's not a beauty, but it works. :)

(I use it for my Lambda 8300, since my ZX81 has a ZXpand.)
