Romantic Robot Videoface Digitiser (clone)
Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know that completed testing my clone of Romantic Robot Videoface Digitiser for ZX Spectrum. It works as it should, can capture PAL or SECAM composite signals and can save up to 6 capture screens on tape, microdrive or disk.
Interesting toy and ti was a fun with recreation it from details on the internet which are not fully correct.

Hi, I am interested in design of this iface. Is it available for share? I'd like to build one for myself.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi,
Have a look at my GitHub here: https://github.com/McKlaud76/VideoFace
I have got some spare PCBs. So if you are interested, feel free and send me a PM.

Oh, great work, thanks.
Unfortunately because I'm just registered into this forum, I cannot use PM yet. But I'm definitely interested in PCB or two. I'm from Czech Republic, so if you would be so kind and can it send internationally, please contact me on email: [email address redacted by moderator]
I can pay via PayPal.
Thank you!

I strongly advise that you do not include your email in posts on the public part of the forum. Instead ask the other member to send you a PM which includes their email details.

Thanks, sorry for that. From my side it's ok, I use "dirty" mailbox for first contact. However now I see I can reply to PM (but not send first), so if @McKlaud can send me PM I'll include personal details into reply. Thanks!

Hello, I’d really like to buy a Videoface from you. Have you got any completed units you’d be willing to sell? If not…I’d still like to buy a spare PCB and would then pay someone to build it for me, I really want a Videoface for use in my podcasts/videos.McKlaud wrote: ↑Wed Feb 22, 2023 11:57 am Hi,

If this is ok, please PM me your email address and we can talk more, thanks.

Hi,
It Seem works on a ZX81 + MEMOTECH/WRX/ZXPrinter !
Why a 48k SPECTRUM ?
The BNC socket is located at the left side... is it a British protocol? Better place all switches, BNC, variable resistors... at the right side... (the right side is always the right side.)

Hi Claudius,
I redraw the circuit diagram using the old wiring diagram ... on Kicad.
I haven't seen your beautiful PDF
It was a fastidious work for me, and yours is better.
Good job. And thanks a lot.
The release 1 and 2 are fully compatible to the ZX81/Spectrum.
However in the second release, ZX81/TS1000 users can't connect the RESET button.
The pin /reset on the SPECTRUM point to the A8 ZX81's pin !
The second point is the BNC socket location on the PCB isn't very easy to connect if we use a long Memotech card (16k RAM PACK /HRG...). I will show you the result on Kicad 3D drawing.
