A collection of over 300 Atari 2600 midi tunes, loops and SFXs converted
to ZonX AY .bin files. The .bin files consist solely of AY data, ending
with $FF, and should be playable on any AY capable computer if loaded correctly.
Hardware Required: ZX81 with ZXPand+ or ZXPand classic with AY board.
Recommended Emulator: sz81p - ZXPand+ version for best AY emulation.
The ZXPand+ is only required for the "GUI" interface to conveniently load
the .bin files. A 16K ZX81 with ZonX would play the .bin files, if there
was a way to load them into memory easily.
"Spinach" is an example of a stand alone ZX81+16K+ZonX program. The AY data
is stored in the 1 REM line.

Re: Atari 2600 SFX for ZX81
Anyone managed to play a bin file with this thing? All I keep getting is "BIN FILE NOT FOUND" also when using the "PLAYER" program cannot load a bin file without the error "NOT A VALID BIN FILE" constantly being thrown up.
Some kind of instructions for this non teccy would be useful.

Re: Atari 2600 SFX for ZX81
I've tested it on real hardware and have no problems. If the files are in the right place it should work, see the attached "hardware" test pics.
With the player if the bin files are not in the same folder you have to enter the full path for example "A/01" the .bin extension is assumed.

Re: Atari 2600 SFX for ZX81
Thank you, this runs nicely on picozx81. Picozx81's limited support for ZXPand+ memory load commands was enough to get it working
I copied the file structure onto an SD Card, added a config.ini to set up Zonx sound and 32kB of RAM and was then able to play all of the sounds.
I ran SPINACH.P to play the popeye tune
I ran ATARISFX.p in the ZAPAND-SD-CARD directory to play the effects and loops

Re: Atari 2600 SFX for ZX81
I'm using sz81-2.3.12 and the player is working. One thing of note, the directory is "A" and when I type "A/01", the load fails. I changed the directory to "a" and then it loads. It looks like sz81 is taking the "A" as a lower case "a" when going to the file system.
